We are organized and operated by dedicated volunteers. The schoolhouse is supported through its membership. If you have benefitted from the programs at Sam Houston Schoolhouse, please consider becoming a member & help preserve this historic site for future generations.

BENEFITS: All members receive free admission throughout the year of your membership. Lifetime members receive free admission for life!

* In addition, members may attend the annual members potluck dinner meeting & voting rights for board member elections. At that meeting, you will receive information related to the preservation of the schoolhouse grounds and its programs, but attendance is not required.

NOTE: You must be at least 18 years of age to vote.

Demonstrators & Reenactors

We would welcome any participation that would aid in the promotion and preservation of Sam Houston Schoolhouse. If you are interested in participating in our an annual events or in volunteering for school groups in early fall or late spring, please contact the Resident Manager, Mary Lynne Bell, at 865-983-1550 or samhoustonsch@aol.com.
